Anne Calteux becomes head of European Commission representation
Anne Calteux has been appointed to the helm of the European Commission representation office in Luxembourg, acting as the official representative in the country.
Calteux replaces Yuriko Backes, who had been in the role for four years before she became the new chief of Luxembourg’s royal household last year.
Calteux is a Luxembourg national and until now has been working as head of EU and international affairs and senior advisor to the health minister. She has also been coordinating the ministry’s Covid-19 Crisis Cell.
She has previously worked as a counsellor in charge of public health, pharmaceuticals and social security. Calteux holds a masters degree in law from King’s College in London where she specialised in comparative European law.
It has not yet been decided when she will start her new role as European Commission head of representation in Luxembourg.
