ESM appoints chief spokesperson
The European Stability Mechanism (ESM) has appointed Cédric Crelo to the position of head of communications and chief spokesperson. He will assume the role on 1 September.
Crelo is currently head of the International Relations and Communications Department at the Central Bank of Luxembourg, a position he has held since 2013. At the Central Bank, he also held positions as Personal Assistant to the Governor and Secretary to the Executive Board, the Council and the Audit Committee.
He holds a Masters in International Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) in Washington DC, a Masters in European Studies from Université Pierre Mendès France in Grenoble, and a Masters in Business Economics and Finance from Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg.
Crelo will replace Wolfgang Proissl, who left the ESM at the end of 2020 to take up the position of Director General Communications at the European Central Bank.
