The head of Luxembourg's Chamber of Commerce, Luc Frieden, has been appointed as the new president of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES).

Freiden has been elected for the 2022-23 term and will take up his new tole on January 1, replacing Christoph Leitl.

EUROCHAMBRES represents over 20 million businesses in Europe through 45 members, according to its website.

Chairman of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce since 2019, Frieden previously held cabinet posts in Luxembourg's government, serving as Justice Minister and Finance Minister.
