Want the perfect wedding or a silver anniversary party? Celebrating a sixth birthday or a 60th?

We often put off throwing a party or hosting a celebration because of the organisational effort. Where does one begin?

Well, start with a party planner.

Luxembourg has a number of planners who can help you find the perfect venue and the ideal menu, a DJ or live band, take care of all the party trimmings and decorations, organise a photographer or send out the invitations.

Here's a few that will help get your party started.

The Party Ville (& The Wedding Ville)

A team of professional party planners, decorators and artists brought together by Nancy Wendt to create stylish parties for kids' and adults' birthdays, baby showers, engagement parties and even the special big day (the wedding).

This outfit comes highly recommended on social media sites with numerous personal testimonies from customers, and can organise everything from A to Z including sourcing venues, booking entertainment and photography, supplying everything you need from balloons to stylish furnishings to decorating your venue and preparing your invitations. You can visit them at the Unicorner Concept Store in Beggen.

Natasha Liati Events

Natasha Liati, also Ara City Radio presenter, can manage and run every aspect of your event, no matter how large or small. This includes sourcing and booking the venue, caterers, bar staff, security, the band or entertainment, party bags and decorations.

On the day her team will help with venue decoration, and help manage all the suppliers. If you have no idea what you want, she can help with concept creation, to make sure your event is unique and memorable. Her website says event management is a timesaver, and allows you to focus on enjoying your special day, worry-free.

New spirit

New Spirit have been creating and managing events for more than 25 years under the direction of Carlo Arendt, owner of the venue Moulin d'Altwies. They take pride in their knowledge of the Luxembourg market, and experience of local customs. They can help you with rental of venues, light and sound, catering, hostess and event staff, performing artists and decoration. You can even rent portable toilets with them. Their testimonials page shows they can handle big events at Rockhal if you are looking to party like its 1999.

Sofia K – Weddings and Events

Speaking English, Spanish and French, Argentinean-born Sofia K can make sure you keep calm and have fun on your wedding day or at your big party. She provides tips and examples of her work on her Facebook page, and has organised weddings that celebrate two cultures in addition to events for embassies in Luxembourg. Her services include everything from brainstorming what you want through to helping you deliver your own idea.

Marigny Events

Joséphine de Marigny run this event company, which organises weddings, birthdays, corporate or private events. She can make your party idea into a reality, or help you with an idea from concept to planning and the design of your event. The company caters to kids' parties, weddings and all manner of events.

You want the perfect ceremony and dress, but you haven't even worked out what invitations you might need. This outfit says it can "guide you through the entire planning process and help you save time and energy". You can opt for a full or partial service package, and extras such as co-ordination on the day.

Oh Happy Day

Baby shower, first birthday or kid's birthday, these people can handle them all with a pick 'n' mix approach to decoration, photography, catering, goodie bags, animations and activities, so that you can manage your event budget.

Special Memories

A tailor-made approach is what you'll get from former lawyer and journalist Angela Leroy who can help ensure you have some very special memories from your pyjama party, picnic or baby shower.

Wedding, communion, baptism or baby shower, Groupe Boucherat can handle them all (hopefully they won't all be happening in the same year). For party fun they have Karaoke equipment and a photo booth, but they can also manage summer parties or Christmas balls, if you want something seasonal.

DIY with a little help

If you're organising things yourself, you should check out the Party Shop in Hollerich and Junglinster for costumes and decorative accessories. Party Rent in Echternach can supply furniture, marquees and other essential party equipment, and She's Cake Rental has bouncy castles, sumo suits, soft play equipment and popcorn machines.

For more help with kids' parties try, Partymaster in Pétange. If you want balloon modelling for the kids but superb cocktail mixing Tom Cruise style for the grown-ups, try Lion animations. If you need to inject a little lightweight decor into your party, LuxBalloon can set you up with 100% biodegradable balloons as venue decorations.

Music & Entertainment

For DJs, live music, live acts, and live shows, look no further than Brothers Events, operating in Luxembourg since 2005. This is the place to come if you want an ABBA tribute band, a string quartet or a jazz singer. DJ Madeline Pirvu (aka Miss MAD) can also help your party swing, and comes highly recommended on Luxembourg's social media groups, and performer Glenys Vargas  is a singer and you can listen to her repetoire on her website.
