Firefighters were called out to an apartment block blaze in the early hours on Wednesday morning in which one person is reported to have suffered from smoke inhalation.

(ADW) Firefighters were called out to an apartment block blaze in the early hours on Wednesday morning in which one person is reported to have suffered from smoke inhalation.

The incident occurred at about 4.40am Dummeldange, at an apartment buildings known as 'terrasses de l'europe' on rue Jean Engling.

When the fire brigade arrived flames and thick smoke could be seen coming from an apartment on the fourth floor.

After entering the building and reaching the fourth floor, firefighters discovered a person behind a door whom later was found to be suffering from smoke inhalation.

The fire which began in the apartment's kitchen was quickly extinguished, although the exact cause of the blaze is not known at this stage.
