12 varieties ripe for picking at Steinsel Apple Festival
What could be tastier than a bite this time of year into a fresh, crisp and self-picked apple? That’s what the traditional apple festival in Steinsel is about, held over two weekends at the "Steeseler Bierg" twelve-hectare orchard.
Many visitors at the weekend flocked to the event where no less than twelve different apple varieties were ripe for the plucking.
With around 25,000 small trees the event proved popular for both young and old, picking their own baskets of apples.
As the festival is about apples in all its forms, juices, liqueurs and brandies were also on offer served up by Steinsel’s basketball supporters club.
With other culinary dishes, art and culture on offer, this family festival proved a popular one and will continue next weekend too.
You will be able to visit and enjoy picking your own apples again on October 8 and 9 from 10am to 6pm.
