250kg WW2 bomb found in north Luxembourg
(CS) A 250kg bomb dropped by a war plane during WW2 was discovered in Oberwampach on Wednesday, prompting the evacuation of residents.
Roads were closed in the small town in north-west Luxembourg near the border to Belgium and motorists were urged to bypass the town from 4pm.
A bomb disposal unit was called and the residents living within 300 metres of the site were evacuated.
The unexploded bomb was found during digging work. Specialised defused the detonator and the area was cleared around 6pm.
