Some 4,000 people had come to see a-ha voice Morten Harket, Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald and German rockabilly band The Baseballs.

Also part of the line-up was the orchestra Il Novecento, founded in 1991 by Robert Groslot, as well as UK musician John Miles, Level 42 frontman Mark King, jazz-fusion pianist Hiromi and the Proms Electric Band.

The Night of the Proms tours annually with several stops in Europe, this year including Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, as well as the US.
