82-year-old knocked down and killed in accident

Police are seeking witnesses to an accident in which a pedestrian was knocked over and killed while crossing a road in Wasserbillig on Friday evening.

According to the police, an 82-year-old man was crossing Rue d'Echternach at around 6pm when he was struck down by a car.

It is thought the car driver saw the man too late and was unable to swerve out of the way in time. The victim died at the scene of his injuries despite receiving emergency first aid.
