Musicians are tuning up for the Blues and Jazz rallye, an unmissable free music event taking place across 11 outdoor stages and 18 bars in Luxembourg City this Saturday.

Music fans can choose from 57 different concerts from genres including Boogie Woogie, Dixieland and New Orleans during Saturday evening's musical marathon.

Among this year's many highlights are King King, Sonny Rhodes Blues Band, Jersey Julie Band, Marc Stone, Preston Shannon Band and Shri Blues Band.

But, even if you are not a blues or jazz afficionado, the event is the perfect chance to hear new music and discover new acts. Performances take place in Clausen and the Grund and the roads in between enabling festival-goers to stroll around venues.

Shuttle buses will also run visitors between the Glacis Car park, rue des Bains and Clausen and on to Luxexpo. Visitors can equally park at the P+R Bouillon and take the CN1 until 3.30am.

Visitors are reminded that the Grund and Clausen will be closed to all traffic between 6pm and 4am, prompting the temporary closure of some bus stops.

Festivities kick off around 7pm and with outdoor performances continuing until 1am and indoor shows expected to go on until the early hours.

Luxembourg's Blues and Jazz Rallye is now a firm fixture in the annual calendar, after the first festival was launched in 1995 to mark Luxembourg's role as the European Capital of Culture.
