ASTI publishes "welcome booklets" in Chinese and Albanian
(MSS) The foreign workers organisation ASTI has published its brochure for newcomers to Luxembourg in two new languages, with information about immigration, residency and social structures now available in Albanian and Chinese.
Moving to a new country requires a lot of work and not knowing the local language only makes it extra hard. Thousands of papers need to be sorted, it might feel like, and you need to get to know the area you live in, a new culture and the people around you.
To help more newcomers to Luxembourg overcome all this a little easier, the non-governmental organisation ASTI has published their “welcome brochure” in Albanian, and has updated its Chinese version, which was published for the first time in 2011, to help facilitate integration.
The leaflets cover simple and practical themes, such as how to obtain various types of a residence permit, how to get a health insurance and information about Luxembourgish language courses.
In 2011 and 2012, the booklet was also published in Persian, Serbian and Portuguese for the first time.
