Eight people are reported to have been slightly injured after a temporary bridge collapsed onto the train tracks in Bettembourg at about 12pm on Thursday, blocking the entire line.

Eight people are reported to have been slightly injured after a temporary bridge collapsed onto the train tracks in Bettembourg at about 12pm on Thursday, blocking the entire line. The bridge had been constructed especially for CFL building work

CFL train lines 60 and 90 blocked

The location of the bridge collapese is between Luxembourg and Bettembourg and all rail traffic is currently completely cut off. This includes the line 60 (Luxembourg - Esch / Alzette - Rodange) and 90 (Luxembourg - Thionville - Metz-Nancy)

22 bus replacements

CFL state that 14 emergency buses will operate between Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette to transport passengers to their destination departing from outside Luxembourg Central Station. Six buses will run between Bettembourg and Thionville (from Bettembourg station). Finally, two buses will operate between Luxembourg and Volmerange-les-Mines just over the border in France.

CFL have announced that rail traffic between Luxembourg and Bettembourg will be completely blocked until Monday morning  next week.
