Car lands in deep gully

A motorist had a lucky escape when they veered off a bend and landed in a stream where they remained trapped.

According to emergency services, the collision occurred in the early hours of Sunday between Lauterborn and Scheidgen in the “Petite Suisse” region in the east of Luxembourg.

The driver had to be freed from the vehicle using a hydraulic device borrowed from Echternach Emergency Rescue centre. They were then rescued with a ladder.
