Catholic Church goes multimedia
(CS) Following the Pope's first tweet in May, the Catholic Church in Luxembourg has also joined the social media network, launching a new website and accounts on Facebook, YouTube and Google+.
In attempt to reach out to tech savvy churchgoers, the website presents a clear layout and design with a new logo to add to the new features on the platform. The user-friendly interface extends to the parishes in Luxembourg. For everyone on the go the website is also available as a mobile site.
While the Pope has been sending out tweets to the world since May 1, the Luxembourg account @cathollu has been sharing news on the social media network since October 12. Earlier in the year the Catholic Church also joined YouTube and Facebook.
Despite this social media outreach featuring videos, interviews and more, the website will remain at the heart of the internet presence.
The interactive features are surely meant to appeal especially to the young, but they are a chance for everyone to get to know more about the Church's work in Luxembourg.
