Catwalk queens in Mondorf
(JB) Mondorf-les-Bains became Luxembourg's fashion hub on Friday, providing the backdrop for some bold and inventive designs during the first edition Fashion Days.
The opening event at Casino 2000 saw eight designers from Luxembourg and beyond showcase their work on an 18-metre catwalk.
Among the designers featured were Najette Ach Cha Jai (FR), Antonio Rocha (CV), Marie Schweisthal (BE), Jael Redinha (PT/LU), Kathleen Guerisse (BE), Philippe Haussman (BRA/LU), Sacha Cooper (LU) and Amit Kumar Sinha (INDIA).
And with collections given titles such as cyber baroque, rainbow, ocean and tipis, there was plenty to surprise and amaze at this inaugural event.
Luxembourg Fashion Days was founded by communications and events experts Muriel Gilbert and Boubaker Almi, who wanted to put Luxembourg on the fashion map while supporting new talent.
In addition to the 25 fashion and accessory designers whose creations will be showcased, the event is made possible with a backstage team of 100 people, including 25 professional models, hairdressers and make-up artists.
Fashion Days continues on Saturday with the start-up design awards at 6pm and closing ceremony from 9pm.
