Celebrate Luxembourg National Day with the royals
(CS) Members of the public can now apply for tickets to the official state celebration to mark Luxembourg's National Day on June 23 at the Philharmonie.
Hosted for the first time at the Grand Théâtre last year, the ceremony was introduced by the DP-LSAP-déi Gréng coalition as a secular alternative to the traditional Te Deum at Notre Dame Cathedral. It forms part of a government effort to increasingly separate church and state.
This year, the celebration will be hosted at the Philharmonie in Kirchberg, with Grand Duke Henri, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Chamber of Deputies President Mars Di Bartolomeo to speak at the event.
Members of the royal family, government and parliament are expected to attend, as well as diplomats, ambassadors and other public figures from the Grand Duchy.
The general public are also invited to apply for tickets for the ceremony that starts at 10am on National Day.
From today, requests for a maximum of two tickets per person can be sent to NationalFeierdag@me.etat.lu with the name, social security number, address and a contact telephone number of the applicant to be indicated in the email.
Alternatively, you can call +352 247-88100.
Tickets will be handed out on a first come first served basis.
