(CS) A child was hit by a car near the central train station on Saturday evening, with the motorist found to be driving without a valid licence.

The accident occurred around 10.20pm when the child crossed the street while the car was turning from the Place de la Gare in direction of Rue du Fort Neipperg. When police arrived they found that the driver was not in possession of a licence.

The child was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses in a hit and run in Reckange where a BMW hit another car, which in turn rammed into a parked car. The BMW fled the scene and police are asking witnesses to call 113.
