Christmas parade comes to town
Road users are warned that the capital will face major transport disruptions this Sunday when the Christmas parade is unleashed.
Spectators can expect to be showered by sweets and dazzled by bright lights as giant snowmen, Christmas elves and the iconic Coca Cola truck take to the streets.
The spectacular cortège, which is a must-see for children and adults alike, follows the Avenue de la Liberté from Luxembourg city's central railway station, across Point Adolphe and into the city centre.
As a result, the route will be closed to vehicles and buses from 4pm until 9pm on Sunday.
Among the bus stops which will close temporarily are Paris/Zitha, Martyrs, Wallis and Al Avenue. Bus line 1 will be redirected via av. Marie-Thérèse-rte d'Esch-to the P&R Bouillon. Bus lines 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16, 18, 19, 23 will be redirected via av. Marie-Thérèse-rte d'Esch-rue de Hollerich. No changes to the normal timetable will be made.
