Luxembourg City's neighbourhood party postponed
(PFM) Luxembourg City will be hosting its "Fête des voisins" two weeks after the rest of the country, with the ING Night Marathon scheduled for the same weekend as the country-wide neighbourhood party marathon.
Citizens of Luxembourg City will still be able to hold their "Fête des voisins" on the initial dates, the weekend of May 29, if they wish to do so.
However, the capital will only offer benches, tables and promotional material, such as invitation cards, balloons or t-shirts, for the events taking place from June 12 t0 14.
Citizens wishing to organise their events in May will only receive promotional material but no benches or tables.
The initiative is part of European Neighbours' Day, with cities and towns across the EU taking part. Even far away countries, such as Japan, Canada or India have taken part in the global event.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Luxembourg's "Fête des voisins", which 35 communes throughout the country are taking part in.
Contact your local commune to find out if they are taking part and how to get their support.
