4 bands to represent Luxembourg
Four bands from Luxembourg have been selected to appear in the line-up of “Découvertes du Printemps de Bourges” aiming to present new artists and talents, for a show at the Rockhal on 5 November. These are: Birdbones, Everwaiting Serenade, INBORN! and Monophona.
The bands were selected by “AntenneLorraine-Luxembourg” for the first of a series of concerts to be held in the Grand Duchy before follow-up concerts in France, and maybe there will be a Luxembourgish selection appearing in the “Printemps de Bourges” festival being held next year in Bourges, France.
What is Printemps de Bourges?
A music festival that began life in 1977 in Bourges, Printemps de Bourges has now become a major festival for France and Europe. Every spring, music lovers from France and surrounding countries flock to Bourges to hear well-known bands as well as new talent, play during the 5-day festival. The newcomers are selected after a series of “discovery” concerts across France and indeed Luxembourg, meaning that one or more of the Grand Duchy's bands could well be on that selection list. Fingers crossed for them!
107 registered groups
12 groups from the region of Luxembourg and Lorraine have been selected out of a total of 107 registered, to perform a total of 3 concerts, the first being the Luxembourg concert at the Rockhal on 5 November. Then follows Metz with 2 concerts on 18 and 19 November. From those 3 concerts only 4 acts will be selected to go on to the “great” regional auditions that take place on 15 December on Nancy. From that concert the bands to make the leap to perform on the stage of one of France's most prestigious festivals will be made. It sounds all very complicated, but Luxembourg could well be in with a chance with this year's diverse and talented selection.
Birdbones, Everwaiting Serenade, INBORN! and Monophona are all performing at the Rockhal for the first concert in the “Découvertes du Printemps de Bourges” series. Doors open at 8pm and entrance is absolutely free.
