All aboard the Differdange Blues Express!
(ADW) Differdange was the location on Saturday for the eighth edition of the “Blues Express” festival. Thanks to the good weather and the long list of excellent acts, visitors turned out in force to listen to the 37 concerts on 10 different stages around the town.
Among the headliners were American jazz guitarists Larry Carlton, Popa Chubby, and the German Thomas Blug and Horny Funk Brothers feat. Hubert Tubbs.
Concerts went on all day and into the evening as crowds perused from stage to stage.
For young and not so young
The event wasn’t just for hard-core blues or jazz fans. The festival was an event for young and old. While kids seemed to prefer the fairground located in Lasauvage or a ride on the "Minnièresbunn" train, “older” guests enjoyed being together with friends in the warm summer evening listening to the music.
Besides the many concerts, visitors also had the opportunity to visit different art exhibitions as well as two museums.
All in all, the feedback from visitors seemed positive. Catherine Beles a blues enthusiast stated, "The festival with picturesque scenery is great. You can really feel the history here. Also the fact that the various stages are scattered everywhere, I find great". Margot from Rollingen shared this view: "This is my first time here, and I am really enjoying it”.
