Counterfeit UGG boots are reportedly being sold in Luxembourg, according to an official distributor of the toasty winter boots.

The Australian brand, whose sheepskin UGG boots are worn by people the world over, is distributed in Luxembourg by Deckers Benelux BV.

This week, the firm warned of an illegal trade in the Grand Duchy, urging consumers to pay close attention if they plan to buy what they think are UGG boots.

According to the distributor, counterfeit UGG boots are of a lesser quality and offer no guarantee of their origin; however, their logo may be very similar to the authentic logo.

In addition, they warn that behind the trafficking of fake boots hide firms which flout the health and safety of workers and may use child labour.

If seized, counterfeit goods are confiscated and destroyed.
