People working in the cultural sector can be more connected to Luxembourg's National Cultural Fund thanks to the launch of a new website.

Focuna.lu, which was unveiled on Tuesday, is aimed primarily at artists and people working in the cultural sector seeking private sponsorship.

Speaking at the launch, Luxembourg Cultural Minister Octavie Modert underlined the importance of private patronage for the cultural sector and appealed to the private sector to support and strengthen cultural activities in the Grand Duchy to boost diversity and the region's attractiveness.

Chairman of the National Cultural Fund Jo Kox used the launch to outline new guidelines in place for people wishing to apply for funding. According to Mr Kox, grants must always be associated with projects, to ensure the fund's independence and limit subsidiaries for contractual partners.

At the same time, the fund has revised its support structure and now offers three types of assistance: direct assistance, support for dissemination, and promotion and export assistance.

The new website provides further information about the policy and how candidates can submit a funding application.
