First names revealed for Sonic Visions festival

Some 18 bands have been revealed as part of this year's Sonic Visions festival line-up including lots of local fare, as well as Seattle band Death Cab for Cutie and acts from elsewhere in the US, Australia, Canada, Sweden, the UK and France.

(CS) Some 18 bands have been revealed as part of this year's Sonic Visions festival line-up including lots of local fare, as well as Seattle band Death Cab for Cutie and acts from elsewhere in the US, Australia, Canada, Sweden, the UK and France.

Death Cab for Cutie earlier this year released their eigth studio album, Kintsugi, and are on the line-up of a number of summer festivals before touring in the US and Australia, and returning the Europe in the autumn.

On November 13, they will perform on the first day of the Sonic Visions indoor festival at the Rockhal.

Also confirmed are Swedish singer songwriter José Gonzalez and US group Alabama Shakes. The festival offers a mix of genres, including US rapper IshDARR, British soul musician Michael Kiwanuka and French electro group AaRON, among others.

Among the Luxembourg bands announced so far are Mutiny on the Bounty, Monophona and Seed to Tree. Other festival acts announced already include Fakear, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kensington, Flo Morrissey, Fickle Friends, Rag N Bone Man and Alex Vargas.

A Sonic Visions festival warm-up on November 6 will feature Son Lux and Australian singer Josef Salvat, who can be heard on radio stations everywhere with his cover of Rihanna's Diamonds.
