(ADW) Taking place this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, is the 18th Comic book festival in Contern. An event that extends far beyond Luxembourg’s borders and has developed almost into a kind of folk festival, attracting comic fanatics as well as families.

There is a lot to discover! New comic books as well as collector item on display from not only internationally renowned book and characters, but also young local talent.

This year national artists include Roger Leiner, Lucien Czuga and Andy Genen who also designed the poster for the festival.

Entertainment for all ages

Entertainment is also provided. Music organisations, Moutfort-Medingen, Itzig, Just Music Bertrange, Schifflange, Bastendorf, Schengen and the "Gropo Folclórico Cifeiras" provide musical entertainment throughout the festival. For the children a large entertainment programme was put together: bouncy castle, face painting, and tiger rodeo.

As Contern is blocked to traffic this weekend, visitors are asked to park their cars in a car park located at the entrance to the village. A free shuttle bus will transport people to the festival.

Entrance is 3 euros, children up to 12 are admitted free. The festival is open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 7pm.
