(CS) UK synth-pop band Hurts were the headliner of the Sonic Visions festival's first day on Friday, just one of 27 bands to perform live at the Rockhal over the course of the two-day event.

Friday saw 13 acts, both local and international, take to four different stages at the Rockhal in Belval. Not only the main hall and club were buzzing with music, but also the venue's café and a special tent.

Local bands, such as Seed to Tree, Porn Queen and Sun Glitters, were joined by international acts like Leslie Clio and, of course, Hurts.

But not only concerts are on the menu at Sonic Visions, which is not just a festival for music fans, but also those starting out in the industry themselves. Two days of workshops hosted by the Music & Resources centre offer a helping hand for budding artists.

The festival continues on Saturday with Iceland's Sigur Rós the main act, and another 13 bands on offer from 7.30pm
