Earlier this month, Luxembourg co-production The Congress won the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature. Directed by Ari Folman the film features long animated sequences, produced by Studio 352.

Ernest & Celestine meanwhile recently bagged the Best Animated Film award at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, after being selected for screening at Cannes and winning the French César award for Best Animated Film.

The film has been shortlisted for the 2014 Oscars, with the final nominations to be announced on January 16.

In any case, Ernest & Celestine will continue its US journey with a trip to Sundance, hosted in Park City, Utah, from January 16 to 26. The festival is introducing its new Sundance Kids section next year, including the world-premiere of the English-language version of Ernest & Celestine.

The English version is voiced by Hollywood stars such as Forest Whitaker, William H Macy, Lauren Bacall and Paul Giamatti.

Another animated feature co-produced by Studio 352, "Tante Hilda", is meanwhile in the line-up of next year's Berlin International Film Festival. Tackling the subject of GM food, the film is part of the Generation Kplus programme, which it shares with three other films aimed at children.

The Berlinale takes place in the German capital from February 6 to 16.
