(CS) Brush up on your Luxembourgish and learn something about the history of modern art with a new book - “Eng Geschicht vun der Konscht vun Haut” (A History of Today's Art) - published by modern art museum Mudam.

The book is a narrative approach to art, chronicling its history in nine chapters from Impressionism to contemporary art forms. Always incorporated into the chapters is a special look at the development of Luxembourg modern art in the international context.

Written by Claude Moyen, who also hosts the Mudam Academy lectures, the book is the first of its kind to be published in Luxembourgish, Mudam director Enrico Lunghi commented at an official book launch on Thursday.

The book features no prints of famous art works, but instead uses illustrations by Luxembourg artist Stina Fisch, adding another layer to the storytelling aspect of the book, according to Moyen.

Co-published by Éditions Saint-Paul, the book is available for 35 euros at book shops across Luxembourg, as well as the Mudam gift shop.
