(CS) While stranded passengers of flight LG366 returned to Luxembourg from Cape Verde on Wednesday evening, the defect plane which caused the delay is set to return to Findel on Thursday.

A technical fault on Tuesday evening meant that passengers had to remain in Boa Vista, Cape Verde, until a replacement plane was able to take them home. Passengers were provided with free accommodation in Cape Verde for the night.

While Luxair has not given any details on the technical error, mechanics were brought to Cape Verde on the replacement plane, which landed on Wednesday and took passengers home the same day.

However, Luxair said that there was no danger to passengers and staff at any point.

The Boeing 737-800 is set to return to Luxembourg on Thursday after repair works in Boa Vista.

The incident is not expected to have any further bearing on Luxair's flight schedule.
