The deputy director-general of the Luxembourg Red Cross, Marc Crochet, is leaving the organisation to take over as the director-general of Caritas.

Crochet has worked in different roles at the Red Cross in the Grand Duchy for more than 27 years, and will take up his new post early next year.

Red Cross director-general Michel Simonis said that a replacement was yet to be confirmed.

He said: “In the coming weeks and in consultation with our governing body, we will adapt our management structure following Marc’s departure.”
