Luxembourg's Democratic Party (DP) published its candidate list on Wednesday for the Southern electoral district.

Finance minister Pierre Gramegna and education minister Claude Meisch are set to lead the list.

For the first time, the DP is listing two top candidates for each district, something only the Greens have done so far.

The candidates will be confirmed on 3 May at the party's national congress.

The full list of DP candidates for the Southern electoral district comprises Barbara Agostino, Romain Becker, Marie-Louise Berens, Eugène Berger, Sven Bindels, Martine Eischen, Laura Ferber, Georges Fohl, Nico Funck, Gusty Graas, Max Hahn, Jean Kihn, Pim Knaff, Max Lehnen, Carole Olinger, Jean-Pierre Roemen, Mireille Roemer, Mara Scheibel, Daliah Scholl, Nicole Sibenaler and Géraldine Welkenbach.

All parties in Luxembourg announce candidates for each of the four electoral districts – North, South, East and Centre – and usually designate one or two top candidates for each district, as well as one national top candidate.

The Southern district elects the most members of parliament, followed by the Centre, the East and the North.
