Driver seriously hurt after car plunges down embankment

A woman was seriously injured in a road accident on Wednesday when the car she was driving plunged down an embankment landing between a stream and a lake, north-east Luxembourg.

The incident occurred at about 7:15am on the small CR353 road connecting Brandenbourg to Putscheid.

According to a police report the car took the plunge on a bend in the road, but information as to why the accident occurred have not been verified.

The victim, the only occupant of the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by emergency services.
