Driver seriously hurt after mini spins & hits tree

The driver of a mini was severely injured on Tuesday morning after losing control of the vehicle in the west of the country, and crashing into a tree.

The incident happened at about 7.30am when the motorist is said to have completely lost control of the mini on a stretch of road near Kreuzerbuch in the direction of Saeul.

The car is reported to have skidded, and the driver's side of it hit a tree with force causing the vehicle to spin on its own axis before finally coming to a halt on an embankment.

Emergency services from Steinfort were able to free the man suffering from serious injuries before he was rushed to hospital.

Just how and why the accident occurred is not known at this stage.
