Dubious text message received by Luxembourg mobile phone users

(sth) – A number of mobile phone users from Luxembourg contacted police today, saying they received a dubious text message. It appears, selected phone numbers received a message, stating they had inherited a large sum.

In case of doubt, police want to make clear that this is a widely known scam and that people should under no circumstances send an answer to the message, let alone communicate the asked data to the sender.

Additionally, police are generally advising to avoid entering your phone number on questionable websites. Similar text messages are sent regularly and should not be answered but deleted.
