(CS) Following the closure of over a dozen shops in the Luxembourg City centre in September, some stores have started re-opening their doors.

Brand boutique “Marc by Marc Jacobs” on the corner of Rue Philippe II and Rue Notre-Dame has opened its doors again, with business magazine paperJam reporting that “Sonia by Sonia Rykiel” is also expected to re-open soon.

Shoe shop Geox should follow shortly, while the magazine says that a hairdresser of the “Beim Figaro” chain will move into the premises of “Comptoir des Cotonniers”.

Some 40 brands have reportedly expressed interest in taking over the stores, which had to close as part of a wave of bankruptcies, which occurred when the holding company of the businesses managing the individual shops folded at the beginning of September.
