(JB) Forging business ties with the African continent is the focus of an afternoon seminar to be held on Friday.

The South Africa into African Continent Business seminar welcomes a range of high profile individuals from the business and academic world, who will look at key growth areas for European businesses on the African continent.

The English-language event, which is organised by the South African Embassy to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union, is hosted at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce on September 23.

On the billing will be chamber director general Pierre Gramegna, South African Ambassador to Luxembourg Dr Anil Sooklal and Angela Jenni from the EIB.

During the afternoon there will be two panel discussion. The first at 2.30pm will see a handful of guests discuss the European Union's strategy towards Africa and how the union's second action plan can be best implemented. Another discussion at 4pm will look at ways of doing business in Africa.
