Future of ArcelorMittal sites under microscope
A meeting takes place on Thursday regarding the future sites of ArcelorMittal in Rodange and Schifflange. The key to the discussions being the need to cut about 250 jobs.
The meeting originally was scheduled on June 9 but was postponed for a week.
250 jobs must go but no layoffs are planned. Employees will be transferred to the sites of Differdange and Esch-Belval. Job reclassification must also come under the microscope.
In mid-April, management and unions had agreed to rescue plan for both sites as part of the agreement “Lux2011”. This plan must be ratified Thursday by the tripartite of unions, management and the Ministers of Economy and Labour.
