Luxembourg sets holiday agenda for Americans
Luxembourg Secretary of State for the Economy Francine Closener is to play travel agent when she pays a two-day working visit to the US from June 2 to 4.
Her main aim will be to attract more American tourists to the Grand Duchy. Already, the number of nights Americans spent in Luxembourg has reached an impressive 55,000 per year.
And, with a strong economic recovery in the US, coupled with strength of the dollar against the euro, there is considerable growth potential in the American tourist market.
“This promotion mission is to encourage North American tourists to further visit the Grand Duchy during their stay in Europe,” the government said in a press statement.
The working visit programme will also include a meeting with the High Representative of female entrepreneurship in the United States and a visit to a secondary school with an innovative concept in the teaching of ICT.
