An 85-year-old man was killed in an accident on Thursday evening in the north of Luxembourg, after losing control over his car and crashing into a tree.

(CS) An 85-year-old man was killed in an accident on Thursday evening in the north of Luxembourg, after losing control over his car and crashing into a tree.

The accident occurred near Huldange, close to the Belgian border. The man lived in Belgium.

Around 7pm, he lost control over his car on the wet road, veering off the road and crashin head-on into a tree.

The man died at the scene. There were no other passengers on board the vehicle.

A second accident in Dudelange around 7pm left one driver in hospital with serious injuries after a frontal collision between two cars. The other driver suffered minor injuries. 

Around 7.15pm another accident occured between Oberglabach and Moesdorf. A young driver skidded off the road and into a tree. He escaped with only minor injuries.
