(ADW) We've had the silly galloping Gangnam Style, followed by the ridiculous Harlem Shake “dance” (if you can call it that) craze, so isn't it time for some real dancing?

That's just what Streetleaders, a Luxembourg hip-hop and street dance group is hoping for as they launch a dance competition with a difference entitled “Aldringen Video Dance Contest”.

The idea is not to simply get up on stage and strut your stuff, but to watch a video of Streetleaders dancing several routines, learn one, then go to the Aldringen underground subway area and film yourself dancing it before sending it to Streetleader organisers to win a mystery prize.

The project is not only organised by Streetleaders but also Ville de Luxembourg is involved, making the contest official. You won't be moved on by police in Aldringen – unless your dancing is terrible of course!

So here are the full details of the steps needed to take part:

  • From the video (above) learn at least one of the dance routines. You have a choice of Popping, hip-hop and locking. You'll notice in the video each routine is performed twice; once slowly for you to see the moves, once at the real dance speed.
  • Film yourself alone or in a group dancing the routine, but it must be filmed in Aldringen.
  • Upload the video to YouTube or other video platform and send a link by email to: videocontest@streetleaders.com together with your name and age.

The deadline for your video submission is April 8.
