Glitz and glamour at Irish Club's summer ball
Luxembourg's Irish Club on Friday celebrated its 30th anniversary with a glamorous ball at Le Sud in Rives de Clausen, raising a glass to its past, present and future.
The anniversary edition of the summer ball was held under the theme “Diamonds and Pearls” and the female guests happily obliged, elegantly dressed and accessorised.
Over 100 guests listened as Irish ambassador to Luxembourg Peadar Carpenter delivered a toast, with Luxembourg Rose Aedammair Ni Chiardha also among the guests, as well as Tessa and Roger Pettinger who founded the Irish Club 30 years ago.
To start off the night, guests enjoyed a champagne reception and four-course gourmet meal.
A charity auction at the ball helped raise money for local charity Think Pink Lux who offer support to women with cancer and their families in Luxembourg. A part of the proceeds also went to Irish charity Barnardos, which works with children and families in need from 40 centres in Ireland.
With good food and drink, plenty of glamour and generosity, the evening continued until late with music and dancing, celebrating the past 30 years of the Irish Club and looking forward to at least the next 30 to come.
