Grand Duke opens own Facebook profile, or does he?

Visitors can learn a lot about the "likes" and hobbies of the head of state. The Duke is as big a fan of charity Télévie, he likes the capital's mayor Xavier Bettel as well as loving the Luxembourgish language, that is according to his “like” list.

(ADW) Is it really him or just a hoax? Since Sunday Grand Duke Henri appears to have his own Facebook profile.

Visitors can learn a lot about the "likes" and hobbies of the head of state. The Duke is as big a fan of charity Télévie, he likes the capital's mayor Xavier Bettel as well as loving the Luxembourgish language, that is according to his “like” list.

Apparently, the Grand Duke is also a friend of the star lawyer Gaston Vogel, in the local spotlight over the "Bommeleeër" affair and seems to care about case as he has uploaded one of the principle photos related to it.

However, for beady-eyed visitors there are clues to the account being false. Firstly would the Duke really make a mistake with capital letters in his title? “Grand-duc Henri De Nassau” is the profile name, “Duc” should always start with a capital letter and “de” doesn’t need one! Curiously, under entry "Work and Education" we learn that in 2000 he "started working with Henri."

It is also strange that Grand Duke Henri would even want a personal profile on Faceback as an official Grand Ducal Court page has already existed for some time.

Only time will tell just how his “news” will develop. It is interesting to note that at one time Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker had 12 Facebook profiles!

Whether  "Grand-duc Henri De Nassau" will be disclosing private experiences remains to be seen. After all, the account has only been up for a few hours.
