(CS) If you have a fir growing in your garden that you would like to get rid off, the City of Luxembourg may help as it is looking for trees to decorate the capital with during the Christmas season.

If you live in the capital and have a fir tree of 10 to 20 metres high that you are thinking of cutting down, you can call the capital's department of parks until mid-October to sign up to have it used as Christmas decoration.

There are some criteria – the trees need to be in “suitable shape”, meaning that they should be more or less symmetrical and with dense branches. Additionally, they should not be immediately surrounded by other trees.

If you think you've got the right tree available, call 4796-2361 or 4796-3412. The City of Luxembourg will pay for the felling and transport of the tree in early November.

Around 20 trees are wanted.
