January 14: Understanding social returns and impact investment
The Indian Business Chamber of Luxembourg will explore social returns and impact investment at its first event of 2014.
Understanding Social returns and Impact Investments Social investing is an act of investing in responsible and ethical business opportunities with a strategy seeking financial and social returns. As the world is becoming more aware and environmentally friendly, social investments are on the increase by entrepreneurs. This seminar will address its various aspects and impacts.
- Pratik Dattani, Managing Director of EPG Economic and Strategy Consulting and an economist with a wide range of experience in social impact measurement and social innovation, as well as public policy and economic modeling. His work also focuses on helping organisations and investors understand social returns & impact investments.
- Jane Wilkinson, Partner at KPMG, leader of sustainability services, specialising in private equity regulated & non-regulated vehicles for fund investment. She is also the Director of the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation and "Île aux Clowns asbl", an association of hospital clowns visiting children, the elderly and isolated persons in hospital, care centers and at home.
- Patriza Luchetta, Director ofTechnologies and Life Sciences at Luxembourg Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, responsible for the Ministry’s strategic orientation related to red biotech and as well as clean technologies. She also has important role of coordinating the bridging of the financing gap of venture philanthropy faced by early stage/ risky start-ups.
The event takes place on Tuesday, January 14 from 6pm to 8pm at KPMG, 5 Rue des Primeurs, Strassen, L-2361 Luxembourg. The speeches will be followed by a networking cocktail.
