(CS) Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker will honour former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan at the Reinhard Mohn prize-giving ceremony on Thursday.

Annan is set to receive the prestigious award, presented by the Bertelsmann Foundation, on Thursday evening for his commitment to promoting sustainability.

Juncker will deliver the main speech in honour of Annan.

The prize is named after philanthropist and former Bertelsmann CEO Reinhard Mohn, who died in 2009. It is given out every two years to highlight social and political issues and honour those who are trying to find solutions to the world's problems.

The prize comes with an endowment of 200,000 euros.
