9 injured in 4 road accidents
It is supposed to be a quiet time on Luxembourg roads with less traffic during the holiday periods. However, this was not reflected in accident incidents on Tuesday afternoon as four accidents were reported injuring nine people in the space of 2 hours.
At 4pm a collision occurred between a car and a motorbike on the road from Imbringen to Eisenborn. Emergency services from Junglinster rushed to scene. The motorbike rider was injured and taken to hospital. Just how serious the injuries were have not been made public.
At 4:20pm a pedestrian walking on Place de la Paix in Esch sur Alzette was hit by a car and slightly injured.
5:30pm and this time Tétange was the scene of another road accident. A motorist travelling on Rue Principale smashed into the back of a parked van by the roadside. The force of the impact was hard enough for the van to hit the back of a truck parked in front of it. The driver suffered severe chest injuries in the accident.
Just over half an hour later another accident was reported. At 6:10pm a loud crash was heard by local residents on the road between Weilerbach to Bollendorf-Pont. Two cars had collided, injuring six people in total although the full details of the accident are not known. Echternach ambulance services were at the scene.
