Accused purchased thousands of litres of fuel
Five people from Luxembourg, France and Belgium have been arrested for allegedly reselling fuel to truck drivers, which was originally purchased using fake fuel cards.
According to police, the arrests came as a result of an international joint investigation lasting several months.
The five are accused of using counterfeit fuel cards, which were either stolen or copied without the knowledge of the legitimate card holder.
It is alleged they used the cards to purchase tens of thousands of litres of diesel from mainly Luxembourg petrol stations, which was then sold on to truck drivers.
