AIDS: 61 new cases this year in Luxembourg
(ADW) 1 December is World Day against AIDS. According to UNICEF, 34 million people currently live with HIV, including 3.4 million children under fifteen.
In Luxembourg, according to “Aidsberodung” from the Luxembourg Red Cross, 61 new cases were discovered between 1 January and 20 November 2011.
In total, over 1,000 people with HIV live in Luxembourg, a third of them choose to ignore the illness.
Aidsberodung are organising a distribution of condoms on 1 December from 7:30am am at the central train station in Luxembourg City and at noon at the Centre Aldringen. At 6pm Exit07-CarréRotondes in Hollerich will be the location for a solidarity meeting with awareness videos being screened and prevention posters displayed, as well as dance performances and an exhibition.
