Automatic border control system at Luxembourg airport
Going through border control at Luxembourg airport is about to become a speedier process as 10 eGates for automated checks are installed.
From next year passengers will use the new system when travelling to and from the airport in Findel.
Germain Schmit, project manager of automated border control gates at Luxembourg police, described the introduction of eGates as the "next logical step on the road to creating the most safe and innovative border control system possible".
Veridos, the company commissioned to install the system, claims it can verify identities within just 18 seconds.
"This will ensure they [Luxembourg airport] are well prepared to cope with the increasing number of passengers," Veridos Senior Vice President Global Sales, Labinot Carreti, said in a statement.
