A brave cashier, who was held at gun point, convinced would-be robbers to leave the shop empty-handed.

The shop worker forcefully pushed the gun away demanding that the man and woman leave the property during the incident on Saturday morning.

According to police, a man and woman entered the business in Avenue de la Liberté, Niederkorn, at around 10.30am.

The male of the pair held a gun to the cashier's head while the woman asked her to give him all the money from the till. Instead of obeying, police say that the cashier slammed her hand against the gun, asking the pair to leave. There was a verbal exchange before they left. The cashier reportedly received injuries to her hand.

The man involved was 1.85 metres tall, slim, wearing dark clothing and a backpack. The woman was 1.7 metres tall, slightly heavier, wearing dark clothes and a backpack. Both spoke Luxembourgish and wore scarves over their faces. Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is urged to call Luxembourg police on 113.
